The EBSD analysis has revealed that lattice parameter ratios of cementite lamellae obviously differ from those of spheroidized cementite particles, which demonstrates that pearlite has a certain amount of internal stress as long as it maintains lamellar structure. The internal stress in pearlite gradually decreased during isothermal holding at 923 K after pearlitic transformation due to interfacial atomic diffusion of iron atoms. However, comparing with theoretical values under Pitsch-Petch orientation relationship, it was understood that large amount of internal stress had been already accommodated upon pearlitic transformation by introduction of misfit dislocations and structural ledges on ferrite/cementite lamellar interfaces. That is, the internal stress of pearlite is dynamically reduced by two different processes; built-in accommodation upon pearlitic transformation and additional time-dependent relaxation after pearlitic transformation. On the other hand, EBSD analysis and neutron diffraction technique gave remarkably different lattice parameters of cementite. From this result, it is concluded that various crystallographic orientation relationships between ferrite and cementite coexist in pearlite. Furthermore, elastic strain energy analysis suggests that the invariant-line criterion on ferrite/cementite interface plays an important role for the selection of orientation relationships in pearlite.

The DRS and TES measurements exhibited a decrease in glass transition temperature () with film thickness. On the other hand, an increase in was observed in INS studies. In order to interpret this contradiction, we investigated the temperature dependence of the peak frequency () of the process probed by DRS and TES. The experiments revealed an increase in the peak frequency () with decreasing film thickness in the frequency region. This observation is consistent with the observed decrease in with thickness. The discrepancy between INS and DRS or TES descriptions of the process is likely to be attributed to a decrease in the apparent activation energy with film thickness and reduced mobility, due to the impenetrable wall effect.

Very recently, we have succeeded in NMR/NQR measurements for PuRhGa. PuRhGa is a superconductor with 9 K, which is isomorphic to PuCoGa with the higher =18 K. We have reported that PuRhGa is an unconventional superconductor with an anisotropic gap, through the measurement of NQR spin-lattice relaxation rate , while PuCoGa is also reported to be such an anisotropic superconductor. The Knight shift and of NMR under applied field for the normal state of PuRhGa suggest an anisotropic feature of hyperfine and/or spin fluctuation in this system. We will outline the superconducting state and report the nature of the normal state based on the basis of and results. The difference between PuRhGa and PuCoGa will be also discussed.

In addition to a laser-induced polarization field, we have found that an ambipolar radial electric field and an internal/external sheath field play a key role in a disassembling dynamics of the cluster. Electrons and ions show a complex behavior leading to a prominent dip structure in electron energy distribution and a double structure in ion density and energy distributions for higher charge states.

It is necessary to evaluate precisely stress condition under irradiation environment, because stress is one of key factors on IASCC. Stress relaxation of tensile type specimens under fast neutron irradiation at 288C has been studied for type 316L stainless steel in Japan Materials Testing Reactor (JMTR). This paper describes the in-pile and out-of-pile stress-relaxation test results of tensile type specimens for type 316L stainless steel as compared with the literature data by Foster, which were mainly obtained by bent beam specimens. Moreover these experimental results were compared with the analytical ones by using Nakagawa's model.
